Why do people use self storage ... ?
 

The reasons people use Self Storage are many. For most people Self Storage is the simple solution to the problem of not having enough space in their home or apartment to store extra items.  People also use Self Storage when they are in the process of relocating to a new area or moving to a new home.

How does self storage work ... ?
 

A Self Storage facility provides customers with their own individual space.  Self Storage differs from traditional storage in that the owner of the goods is responsible for, and retains control over their goods after they have put them into storage.  You secure your storage unit with your own lock, keep the key, and have access to your goods during facility access hours.  You can put extra items in, take items out, or move to a smaller or larger unit if you need to.  You have complete flexibility.  Car or boat storage is also available at many of our locations.  Ask the Manager about this when you call for information.

What can be stored in my unit ... ?
 

Furniture, books, files, camping equipment; anything from a few boxes to a full household. Items that do not meet safety requirements are not permitted such as hazardous or toxic materials.  Anything that would be combustible or explosive in nature such as a can of gasoline or cans of paint, dynamite, etc.

How much space do I need ... ?
 

No two people have the same storage requirements.  Valley Self Storage has sizes to fit almost every storage need.  Our managers will help you decide on which size is appropriate for your situation.  We can also advise you on how to pack and store your goods for easy access to your items.  See our Guides page for more information.

What are your storage rates ... ?
 

Valley Self Storage has competitive rates.  Since our rates are based on a number of various factors, the best way to obtain rental rates on a unit that best meets your specific needs is to call and speak directly to the location manager.

What is the minimum time that I can store for ... ?
 

There is no minimum to how long you can store as a tenant, but the minimum rental period is one month

How long will it take to move-in ... ?
 

The entire move-in process should take less than 10 minutes.  Please keep in mind that the time may vary, depending on whether there are other customers ahead of you when you arrive.  Mornings are usually the slowest period of the day, while afternoons tend to be busier.

What kind of documentation do I need to rent a unit... ?
 

A valid driver's license with photo, passport or photo ID is required to lease a unit.

Do I need insurance ... ?
 

Insurance is the tenant's responsibility, however Valley Self Storage requires and recommends stored property insurance.  If you are a home or business owner your insurance policy may cover stored property.

What are your hours of operation ... ?
 

Valley Self Storage locations are open 7 days a week, office and gate hours are posted on location.  We are closed on most major holidays.

Should I make a reservation ... ?
 

Availability changes on a daily basis.  In order to make sure that the space that you want is available when you need it, we recommend that you make an advance reservation.

Do you offer services for both the household and business customer?

 Valley Storage is a leader in the industry and has services for both the household and business customer.

What does "on-site" manager mean?

 "On-site" manager means that an employee, usually the Store Manager, has a residence at the storage facility.

Do you have video cameras?

 Valley Storage facilities use video cameras as a security measure. Cameras are generally located at the point of entry and exit and other areas around the facility. The number of cameras and the type of system that is installed at each facility will vary based on the design of the facility.

What is a roll-up door?

 Roll-up doors are the most common door in self-storage. They are accessed by sliding a latch and lifting the door upward, similar to the motion of a garage door. Roll-up doors allow you to maximize the usage of your space.

Do I get a lock when I rent a unit?

 You can purchase a new lock at the Valley Storage facility. We offer locks and recommend purchasing a disc lock to ensure the highest level of security.

Do you offer RV/boat/car/motorcycle parking?

 Valley Storage offers parking for RVs, boats, cars and motorcycles.

What is a drive-up unit?

 A drive-up unit is an outside unit, that gives you the ability to load your belongings directly from a vehicle or truck.

How far in advance can I book a reservation?

 We give you the flexibility to book a reservation up to 30 days in advance to help you plan ahead.

What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?

 An outdoor unit has access from outside. An indoor unit is within the property and will require you to go inside to access your unit.

What sizes are available and how do I pick my size?

 We offer a wide range of sizes to accommodate your needs. Sizes range from 5x10, to 10x30. Determining the right size is easy with the help of our size estimator and the help of our Store Managers who are trained to assist you in this process.
